Hope Food Pantry


3rd Wednesday at 4:00 pm.

Free food to families in need. Families must bring proof of income and proof of a LaRue County address. This ministry serves approximately 110 families each month. Generous donations from church members and the community help sustain this ministry as we purchase food from Feeding America and receive donations from local organizations and individuals. This ministry team also hosts a Food Pantry Fellowship Meal on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm. Free supper for food pantry participants and volunteers. “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” Matthew 25:35 

College Ministry

Members of the college team ministry provide gifts (gift cards, movie passes, goodie boxes, etc.), support, and prayer during the school year for our college students. This ministry helps us keep our young adults connected to the church. “May our sons in their youth be like plants full grown, our daughters like corner pillars cut for the structure of a palace.” Psalm 144:12 ESV 

Manna Meals


Wednesdays at 11:00 am

Three teams provide meals to shut-ins/elderly members each month. Each team prepares and delivers one meal a month for approximately 10 individuals. “If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.” Isaiah 58:10 ESV 

Mission Team

After joining a conference mission trip to help repair homes from hurricane damage, a new ministry was formed to complete mission service projects both near and far. No carpentry or building skills are required. There are jobs available for anyone who wants to help. See Randy Osburn for more information. “For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building. “According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:9-11 (ESV) 

Blessing of the Bikes

Usually in May or June we host a special service featuring a blessing of the bikes, fellowship meal and optional ride after lunch. “And as they still went on and talked, behold, chariots of fire and horses of fire separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.” 2 Kings 2

Laundromat Ministry


Last Thursday and Saturday of the month

This ministry team shares God’s blessings by paying for use of washers and dryers at Hodgenville Coin Laundry. “People don’t light a lamp and put it under a basket but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way let your light shine in front of people. Then they will see the good that you do and praise your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:15-16 

Choir

Do you have musical gifts? The music ministry of HUMC is always looking for musicians and vocalists to help lead worship, provide special music, and participate in holiday cantatas. Come join the fellowship and make a joyful noise! ”Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the LORD with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram's horn- shout for joy before the LORD, the King. Let the sea resound, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy.” Psalm 98:4-8 

Bike Brigade

Part of the Community Church Christmas assistance program, the Bike Brigade is led by HUMC under the leadership of Robbin Redmon. Gently used bikes are repaired and cleaned.  Donations of new bikes are sought.  The goal of the program is for every low income child in LaRue County who wants one, will receive a bike for Christmas. "And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof." Zechariah 8-5

Littlest Blessings Children’s Church
Little Blessings Children’s Church

Children are invited to join Little Blessings during the sermon portion of the worship service. Bible stories, games, crafts, and songs help children learn about God and Jesus. Ages 2 through pre-K are in the Littlest Blessing Program and Kindergarten through 3rd grade are welcome to attend Little Blessings. Both groups begin after the Children’s Moment during Sunday morning worship.
“But Jesus said, ‘Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.’ And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left.” Matthew 19:14
